Swine Slaughter

Today is the big day. The day when some douche bag gets voted into office. Someone we vote on just because their ideals are closest to our personal ones. Which in the end, has fuck all to do with running a country. As my boy Tom said. Don't vote. If everyone stopped voting we would gain the power back from these corrupt beurocrats. But in the end we are just as corrupt as they are. If it is in a human beings hands it is going to suck. So I just do what I do. Not really care and go for the lesser of the evils. Which I assume is what a lot of us are doing when we vote. I have no excuse to not vote. They are setting up a voting thing in the lobby of my building. So I just have to go downstairs to vote. I think I am going to vote NDP. For sure I am voting for Mixed Member Proportional Representation. First time a referendum has been voted on since the 1920's. That is a long time. It hasn't even happened in my Grandmother's lifetime until now. Most young people I know aren't voting. Quite frankly I doubt I would be if it wasn't so convenient. Because I just don't give a shit.

No matter what government has ever been in thus far in my life, it hasn't affected me. Though everyone would like you to believe it affects you which government is in. It only really matters if you are gay and want to be married, are homeless, are a pot head and want to smoke in public unashamedly, etc. etc. Oh and I guess every party tries to throw healthcare into the mix. But I think they just use that because it affects everyone. Just as long as it isn't privatized. Anyways, enough about politics. I am putting myself to sleep for christ's sake. I don't have to work a morning shift the ret of the week. Which is pretty awesome. I can think I am catching up on sleep. But the reality of it is that I am just staying up later. The Leafs got slaughtered last night 7-1 by Carolina. It was brutal to watch. The team just fucking fell appart. They got the first goal. Then there were seven unanswered goals. Ugh. I don't even want to talk about it it was so brutal. You know what has grown so incredibly juvenile and boring to me? MSN. I rarely talk on it anymore.

There are people online this moment that I would usually talk too. But fuck if MSN isn't just the stupidest form of communication and I have been doing it for too many years. It truly does annoy me. It annoys me how much stock people put into it. It annoys me that people get pissed because they see that I have music playing so are insulted thinking I am at the computer not talking to them. Though sometimes I am actually not at the computer. Sound does carry after all. Or sometimes I am on the computer listening to music playing online poker. Damn do I love poker. Well I justpaused writing this to go vote. It was pretty sweet. There was no line up whatsoever. I voted for MMP and NDP. So now that I have done my civic duty, I can sleep guilt free tonight. Haha. The main reason I am voting is because of the referendum. I think there needs to be change in our electoral system. I talked everyone that I work with into voting for it. They didn't really know to much about it.

It is sad that our media didn't explain it that well. I finally saw it explained on the news two days before the voting deadline. They should have been trying to clarify it to the public a long time ago. They also listed the pros and cons of it. They were asking a lot of people on the street in Toronto about it and tons of people had no idea what it was and therefore because of being ignorant about it weren't going to vote for it. So that is why I believe it won't pass. I have a lot of faith in peoples ignorance. Anyways I am going to end this for the day. Poker beckons. I got to kick some mexican ass.
