These are old posts from Jon's blog reminding me of times when we were great friends and had awesome times together. How quickly things will change. Sometimes life throws me for a loop that I don't understand. It isn't like I haven't tried communicating with him. I have. But he just ignores me. Like mature adults do. But there are times where I definately miss him and think of how weird it will be to go to Owen Sound and not be welcome just to drop by his house. I wish he treated me with some dignity. Even after i found out about him and Morgan fucking around right after she left me, I treated him civilly. Even friendly. The only time I shirked from that was that one angry post. Jon's not a bad guy. Too bad this is how he wants things to be. Anyway. Here are some of his old posts in his blog. A record for me. To remind me of times when I considered him dear to my life. Never knowing this was in the not to distant future.
I still have to edit a wedding video for my cousin today. I also have to get ready for xmas dinner at my place. I’m looking forward to it. In attendance will be Trevor, Morgan, Rob, Owen, and hopefully Devon. It’s a good crew. Every so often I think to myself that I really do have some damned fine friends, and I’m very greatful for it. Now, I’m just waiting for a ride into Owen Sound so I can get started on my work. We’re very much behind schedule today, which I blame on the Texas Mickey. But I don’t feel impatent or frustrated… yet.
Adam and Michelle (the other one) couldn’t make it to OS last night because the roads were bad down their way. So Cara and Michelle and I went out for food instead. It was good. Trevor and Rob came over to hang out later. We stayed up too late and had a rediculously good time. There was great conversation, and bacon and coffee when we woke up. It’s going to be a tradition from now on. Good kids, they are. The lot of us are having a christmas dinner here tomorrow, and hopefully Devon will come too.
Really, the only thing I enjoy about christmas time is getting together with friends, but I do that all the time anyways. But even though I hate it, I’m happy when other people are having a good time, so I’ll go with it. Now I must finish shopping. Blah!
Trevor and Morgan made it out of the hospital alive. There doesn’t seem to be anything urgently wrong with her. Eugene, an old friend/bandmate/co-worker randomly called so I invited him to dinner too. We picked up some christmas herbs too, for some christmas eve entertainment. Owen made it here first with a bottle of Bailey’s, which we promptly emptied. Rob showed up after work. By the time we all started thinking about making supper we realized that all the grocery stores were closed, being christmas eve and all. Even the corner stores were closed. We called a few pizza places before finding the only one left open, and ordered some pizzas. It was good. I think the pizza guy on the phone found us pretty entertaining. I couldn’t have handled another turkey dinner after last night anyways, and there’s probably more of that tomorrow. It was a great time with some great friends. To celebrate the season we watched a couple of christmas Southpark episodes. Unfortunately, Devon couldn’t get someone to watch her kid so she couldn’t make it down. I’d really hoped she could! But we managed to have a good time regardless. Tomorrow’s the drive to Toronto. I’m looking forward to seeing my siblings, but I’m not a big fan of the driving. I forgot the book I’m working on in Chatsworth and I’m out of batteries for my MP3 player. It’s going to be a long boring ride! I’m taking a holiday from posting tomorrow, unless anything rediculously exciting happens, so have a great time doing whatever you’re doing for the holiday. You’re all wonderful people!
Yesterday I drank vodka for lunch. It made the rest of the day somewhat incoherent. Ended up at Owen and Trevor’s, where we decided we should go out to Chatsworth to play guitar and stuff. So we staked out Cara’s car at work, half an hour early, which turned out alright because we ran into Tap on his break and sat in his car with him while we waited for Cara. Finally got out to Chatsworth. Kris Patterson showed up later too, and we had a pretty good night all around. Trevor and Morgan wussed out and went home at 11. Owen and I overcaffinated ourselves and stayed up until about 5:30 in the morning. The plan was to stay up until 7 and catch a ride back into town with Cara on her way to work, but I succumbed to my body’s need for sleep eventually. Still managed to get up at 7 and come back to my house, where we slept until now. It’s time for more coffee!
Friends are coming over tonight (yes, that’s you Rob and Trevor!) to make me party. I’m not really entirely sure if it would be a good idea or if I want to. We’ll negotiate later. I have a lot of things to consider. It won’t come down to a coin toss this time. I appreciate the gesture, but I hope they won’t be too let down if I opt out. Chances are 50/50 I think. We’ll have to see how the day progresses. I don’t think I’ll clean today. My motivation seems to have packed its bags and run out on me while I was sleeping. It doesn’t seem likely that it will come back today.
Plans for last night got severly altered. But that’s ok. We had fun anyways. Trevor, Morgan, Rob, and Owen were over until 6 in the morning. We had some wonderful conversation and plotted to take over the World, or something like that. This morning I feel like crap. My brain is mush and my body feels… tired? I’ve got to get out of the house or I think I will continue to feel this way forever, so Michelle is coming into town and we’re going to accost the Bean Cellar. Then I have to edit edit edit. I’m behind schedule already. I don’t want to end up cramming this time, so I better get to it. Damned procrastination and lack of motivation. Damn vowels!
would have left the bar right away if Devon hadn’t paid for me to get in. I did leave after an hour and wandered over to Tunga’s place, where he was hanging out with Trevor and Morgan. But I didn’t feel very settled, so I left after not too long. I thought I’d give the bar one last chance and see if Devon and Jenn were still there. They were, and they were drunk enough to be fairly amusing, so I stuck around for a bit. Cara came by after work. Morgan and Trevor also showed up. Jimmy and Erro dropped by randomly and dragged us to a party that was already over. We came back here, smoked up a bit, and talked nonsense until it was time for sleep.
After finishing editing I went over to Rob’s mom’s house, where Trevor, Morgan, Owen, and Rob were. We just watched TV for a bit. I bailed out at 2am, but it was good to get away from the house for a bit, especially when I’m working from there. I meant to sleep when I got back, but I got sidetracked by the Internet. Damn you Internet. Then I got into Red Storm, by Tom Clancy. I think it’s his best novel, before he started wasting all his time on character developement. So it was 4:20am when I finally turned off the light and went to sleep.
What a crazy party! There were four of us: Rob, Trevor, Morgan, and I. Not being a fan of football, and also feeling a bit ill, I managed to sleep through the first half of the game. I was awake for the second half but didn’t really watch it either. I don’t even know who won! But things were made right again when they aired an episode of Family Guy I hadn’t seen yet after the game. I didn’t mind the low key party after last night though. It was pleasantly relaxing. This weekend was pretty good, despite all the ill-feelingness and hangoverishness. No more relaxing though. It’s back to editing very soon. I’d almost forgotten. So no more partying for me until next weekend.
I’m still sick, but I feel pretty good about life in general now. Rob, Trevor, and Morgan are on their way over and we’re going to relax and watch Donnie Brasco. I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s got Jonny Depp, and he’s usually pretty interesting to watch. This is my last day without money, and so far, other than the cold, it’s turning out a lot better than expected. And come tomorrow, there’s a whole new month of adventure ahead.
Morgan and Trevor dropped by late last night. At my request. Morgan brought me something delicious! So Road Trip was on at 3am, and we decided to watch it. It’s one of the few movies in that genre that I enjoy. It’s nearly 3pm and we’re just making breakfast now, but I still feel like I didn’t get near enough sleep. I still can’t shake this cold I have either. More later. Brain’s not awake yet…
